The Bronze Tee “T” Connector (Female-Female-Female BSP) is a heavy-duty threaded fitting designed to connect three pipe sections, allowing fluid flow to branch in two directions from a single line. Featuring three female BSP threaded ports, this tee provides a secure and reliable junction for distributing or combining flow within a piping system. Constructed from solid bronze, it offers exceptional corrosion resistance and durability, making it ideal for marine, industrial, and general plumbing applications where long-term performance is essential.

🔧 Key Features

Solid bronze construction — highly resistant to corrosion, especially in saltwater and harsh environments.

Three-way tee design — enables efficient branching or merging of fluid lines.

Female BSP threads on all ports — compatible with standard British Standard Pipe (BSP) systems for secure connections.

Compact, robust body — minimizes space while maintaining strength and durability.

Precision threading — ensures a tight, leak-resistant seal.

⚓ Typical Applications

This tee connector is perfect for:

Marine plumbing — freshwater and seawater systems, bilge, deck wash, and cooling lines.

Industrial piping — fluid distribution, compressed air systems, and utility networks.

Domestic systems — water supply, irrigation, and heating circuits.

Any installation requiring a reliable three-way connection to split or combine flow without compromising system integrity.

💡 Why Use a Bronze Tee Connector?

Bronze tee fittings deliver excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical strength, ensuring dependable operation in demanding environments. The three-way design simplifies system layouts by reducing the need for additional fittings, while BSP thread compatibility ensures easy integration. This makes it a practical and durable solution for creating efficient, leak-free branching connections in both new installations and retrofit projects.

BSP vs. NPT Threads – What You Need to Know

Not all pipe threads are the same — and mixing them can cause leaks, damage, and costly downtime.

In the United States, most pipe fittings use NPT (National Pipe Taper) threads. However, many marine systems, European equipment, and imported vessels use BSP (British Standard Pipe) threads.

These thread types are not compatible.

Key Differences Between BSP and NPT

Thread Angle & Shape

  • BSP: 55° thread angle with rounded peaks and valleys
  • NPT: 60° thread angle with flat peaks and valleys

Because the angles and shapes are different, the threads will not properly mate together.

Sealing Method

  • NPT: Tapered thread that seals by thread compression (metal-to-metal contact). Thread sealant or tape is typically required.
  • BSP: Sealing depends on the type — BSPP or BSPT (explained below).

Understanding BSPP vs. BSPT

There are two main types of BSP threads:

🔹 BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel)

  • Parallel (straight) threads
  • Does NOT seal on the threads
  • Requires a sealing washer, bonded seal, O-ring, or gasket
  • Common in hydraulic and marine applications

BSPP connections seal at the face of the fitting, not in the threads.

🔹 BSPT (British Standard Pipe Tapered)

  • Tapered threads
  • Seals by thread compression (similar in concept to NPT)
  • Typically requires thread sealant

However, BSPT is still NOT interchangeable with NPT, because:

  • The thread angle is different (55° vs. 60°)
  • The thread form is different

Even though both are tapered, they will not properly seal together.

Why This Matters in the U.S. Marine Industry

The U.S. market predominantly stocks NPT fittings, which creates challenges when servicing:

  • European marine engines
  • Imported vessels
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Marine equipment designed to BSP standards

Using the wrong thread type can lead to:

  • Leaks
  • Cracked fittings
  • Damaged ports
  • System failure

Our Specialty: BSP Solutions

We focus specifically on BSP fittings and components, stocking and supplying BSPP and BSPT products to fill the gap in the U.S. marine market.

If your equipment requires BSP threads, we provide the correct parts — helping you avoid mismatched fittings and costly downtime.
