This construction features an inner plastic layer, an overlapped/butt-welded aluminum core, and an outer plastic protective layer, held together by bonding adhesive. It is extremely popular on European luxury yachts because the aluminum layer allows the pipe to be bent by hand while holding its shape and creating a 100% oxygen/vapor barrier.
